Phase II of the Haisheng Lithium Battery Separator Project Commences Operations with Eight Production Lines

Recently, at the Yangqu Industrial Park within Shanxi’s Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, the commissioning of the Luyu 35 kV Substation (Jinxi Line No. 2) marked the official connection of power to Buildings No. 103 and No. 104 of Phase II of the Housheng Lithium-Battery Separator Project, enabling the full-scale operation of eight production lines. With this milestone, all 16 production lines of the Housheng Lithium-Battery Separator Project are now fully operational, establishing an annual production capacity of 2 billion square meters of lithium-battery separators. The project is expected to generate annual sales exceeding RMB 10 billion and is committed to providing the world’s leading solutions for lithium-battery separators.

In a special presentation, Tang Zhiping highlighted that Shanxi is China’s sole pilot province for comprehensive energy-revolution reform. The province is accelerating the development of “five major bases”: a green coal development and utilization base, an unconventional natural gas base, an electricity-export base, a demonstration base for modern coal chemical industry, and a base for the commercialization of scientific and technological innovations in coal-based technologies—all aimed at promoting the sustainable development of green energy. In 2023, Shanxi’s installed capacity of new and clean energy reached 60.98 million kilowatts, accounting for 45.83% of its total installed capacity; this share is expected to rise to 50% by 2025. Shanxi’s green power not only meets the province’s own development needs but also makes a significant contribution to ensuring the nationwide supply of clean energy.

By the end of December 2023, with the commissioning of Production Lines No. 7 and No. 8, all eight production lines in Phase I of the Housheng Lithium Battery Separator Project, located in the Yangqu Industrial Park of the Shanxi Transformation Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, had been brought online. Construction of Phase II is currently being expedited, and its eight production lines are also slated to commence operations this year.
